Our management team includes the following:
Thomas E. Laird, President
Tom Laird began his career as a union carpenter. After five years in the field, he returned to school to obtain his degree in construction management and engineering from Purdue University. During the past 20 years, Tom has specifically worked as an estimator and project manager in general and restoration contracting, specializing in exterior masonry and concrete restoration.
Previously, Mr. Laird was employed for 14 years as a project manager for two large and prominent general and specialty restoration contractors in Chicago. During his tenure, he was responsible for the restoration and renovation of numerous projects in excess of 80 million dollars. His primary focus was on projects specializing in general contracting services, including the repair of exterior façades, structural garage and plaza deck renovations.
Darin R. Mehrings, Senior Project Manager
Darin brings an engineering background to LS Contracting Group that has allowed him to approach and understand projects from a unique vantage point. As a former employee of a leading restoration architect for over 10 years and a graduate of the College of Engineering at University of Illinois at Chicago, Darin has combined his engineering knowledge and construction field experience to become a more versatile member of the LS Contracting Group team.
Darin joined LSCG in 2000. His responsibilities include estimating, project management, and customer service on both restoration and general contracting projects. Darin is currently a member of ACI, PCI, ABOMA, CAA, and ICRI.
Maria Lobo-Corey, Controller
Maria Lobo - Corey has 25 years of accounting experience in the construction industry. During her career, she has been involved in the financial accounting management for a broad spectrum of projects. These projects range from extensive core and shell construction to fast-track specialty commercial tenant build-outs. During her tenure with LS Contracting Group, Maria successfully implemented the Timberline accounting software and developed effective company policies and procedures.
Scott Jacobson, Superintendent
Scott serves as LS Superintendent, directly in charge of overseeing all trade personnel.
